1 of 3 Creating Resiliency & Efficiency with a Hybrid Workplace AgilQuest Case Study AgilQuest Case Study: Ferguson Enterprise : Ferguson Enterprise Company Overview Ferguson Enterprise is the largest commercial and residential plumbing wholesaler in the U.S. and has 31,000 associates across 1,600 locations. They are headquartered in Newport News, Virginia and completed a new 260,000 sq. ft. headquarter campus in 2020. New Campus, New Strategy Just as it is important to replace old plumbing fixtures before they start causing problems, Ferguson found it is equally as important to have a resilient workplace strategy and technology in place to keep business flowing when the rest of the world seems to stop. In Summer of 2018, Ferguson broke ground on their new HQ3 campus, with the goal of evolving their innovative culture and modernizing their workplace. HQ3 was designed to encourage collaboration and engagement with open seating areas and adaptable, flexible areas for meeting and working. At the same time, Ferguson also began implementing tools and technology to foster mobility, flexibility, and engagement. They hired VIcom, a leading technology solutions integrator, to start the process of upgrading and installing new A/V technology to facilitate collaboration across the campus, and eventually company wide. With these new tools in place, the company was set up for success when the world stopped in March of 2020. Fluid and Flexible for Business Continuity "At Ferguson headquarters, working in a flexible and fluid manner had been already happening for the past several years," said John Wright, Network Engineer at Ferguson. "When the pandemic first started and everyone was trying to figure out remote work, for us, it was a matter of turning a couple of toggle switches on and enabling things we already had embedded and were familiar with." It was an easy transition for most Ferguson associates who had access to all the communication, collaboration, and files they had become used to at the office.
