A Step-By-Step Guide to Modern Workplace Solutions
Getting a Budget
Understand the Environment
Before you commit any time or resources to a lengthy
workplace change initiative, you must have a comprehensive
understanding of your organization's needs and how you
would like a telework or hoteling solution to address them.
Is your organization and culture ready for workplace change?
What or who is the driving need for change? Who needs to
be involved (HR, IT, Real Estate)?
Gaining Buy-In
Winning over your decision makers and
internal stakeholders is imperative to
getting a budget item for your project. Just
as a stool will not stand with fewer than
three legs, you will need visible, constant
support from internal stakeholders in HR,
IT and Real Estate.
Keep the ultimate goals of your
organization and leaders in mind as you
work toward presenting a business case.
Prepare a Business Case
What are your goals? Productivity? Personal ROI? Profit? Human capital?
Constructing a compelling business case starts with defining expected
business outcomes.
Remember, when defining the direction of your program, you should
focus on the people in your organization and their success in a new
mobile work environment.
Win Over Holdouts
What is still holding some
people back? How can you
speak to apprehension and offer
solutions respectfully?
Be sure that there are open and
friendly lines of communication
where holdouts can comfortably
share their reasons for hesitation.
Remember, your goals at the
end of the day are to help
people perform to the best of
their potential.
Present a Business Case
Before you present your case, revisit the steps to this point.
Be prepared to answer and discuss all of the questions that
have come up in your research.
A telework or hoteling program can propel your organization
and your workforce when all the steps are executed fully.
