Part 2: Winter Weather Teleworker Checklist
Use this high level checklist to practice and cover the typical needs of you and others to remain
productive when working from home:
o With the equipment and connectivity I have in place, can I perform my normal
duties and tasks from home or my remote location?
o Is it possible, using the equipment and software I have, for my colleagues, my
supervisor, and my customers to reach me and conduct normal
communications?
o Do my co
workers, my team, and my customers know how to reach me when
I'm working from home?
o Do I have the right contact information, phone numbers, and email addresses at
home or in the equipment I use at home, to contact the people and
departments I work with regularly?
o Are the support people or departments I might need while working from home
during a weather event (laptop, applications, network, VPN, etc.) available and
accessible from home?
o Is the area I have set aside for performing work at home quiet and ready for me
to do a full day's work?
o Are the work materials, files and document I need to perform my work
available? Are they secure? Do I need to do anything extra to protect or track
these materials when they are physically outside the office?
o Do I have a way to communicate to my team and colleagues that I am, indeed,
working from home today?
o If you are using a hoteling or reverse hoteling system, can you release your desk
at the office for others to use while you're not in the office today?
