This "ownership" model will always exist, to some degree, in every business. If your office includes just a handful of employees and mee ng rooms, you may not need any addi onal product. You may be able to manage spaces effec vely with Google Calendar, SharePoint, or Microso Outlook/Exchange. A slightly larger space—with a half-dozen mee ng rooms in a single building—may s ll survive with an out-of-the-box freeware solu on or open-source system. But you may quickly no ce limita ons, especially if your small company is growing rapidly. If your system can't scale with your business, workspace management challenges may lessen your ability to recruit and retain talent, or keep you from ge ng the most out of your staff. Those challenges can place a heavy drag on your company's progress—especially if you don't yet understand how your space is being used or lack support from leadership to affect change. Ul mately, a successful workplace strategy for small businesses helps resolve these three core needs: 1. "We need to understand how we're using our space now." 2. "We need help a rac ng and retaining top talent." 3. "We need to know the business value of a poten al so ware investment."
